The Bruiser’s Cousin
I had some time before supper this afternoon (sometimes its good to have dinner with your wife) and went back to see if I could retrieve my ‘Super Bugger’ from the maw of the bruiser. He may have been one of the fish who hit my fly, but I can’t be sure. I tied up some tungsten conehead monster buggers with some flashabou wrap of my own design and at the first presentation, this fella hooked up.
Two more strikes afterwards, but those didn’t take. Time to rest that pool again.

I like the artwork of your wife! Very nice James, she’s talented and it seems that sharing supper from time to time yields great rewards!
Seriously, it’s nice, it blends very nicely with the rest of your blog. I also wondered when you catch one, do you always eat them as well or is it sometimes catch and release?

I almost always catch and release trout.
The art work is just a photo of a brook trout that I then ran through filters in Adobe Photoshop.
My wife and I are working on an idea for artwork.

The question is, did you make it back to dinner??? I have your elk hide in the shop ready to send as soon as I find something to send it in. I cut your piece about 2 foot square , one of the neck and one of the body. Sorry it took so long but with the rain I had a heck of a time drying it, almost lost it a couple of times.
