About

The kids are all grown up and gone and I have more time to do some of the things that I love to do and that is to spend time with my dogs in the woods and mountains of NH and fly fish for trout in the same. I’ve had a couple of false starts with this blogging thing and decided to give it another whirl. Please join me with stories and comments.

  1. Would you be willing to post this on your blog? (I can also get you a picture of the book)

Or, are you interested in a .pdf review copy?

    Thanks for considering,

Whistling Shade Press recently released Jeff Vande Zande’s fly fishing fiction Threatened Species and Other Stories (a novella and five short stories) . . . here’s what people are saying . . .

“I pondered each of these stories well after I read them.”
–Seth Norman, Fly Rod and Reel Magazine

“Reminiscent of A River Runs Through It.”
–Michael Darmes, Detroit Fly Fishing Examiner

“a glorious Michigan rendition of A River Runs Through It . . . The tension is like heat lightning before a thunderstorm.”
    –Bill Castanier, Mittenlit.com

“Threatened Species is a wonderful collection . . . something different and something priceless.”
    –Toney Sisk, Wayward Fly Fishing

  5. Hello,
I have enjoyed reading your blog- reminded me of my college years when I did a little bit of fishing on some of the White Mountains streams. I am wondering if there is an email address where I can contact you? I have some questions about your blog. Thanks and I look forward to hearing back from you.

  6. Great setter photos! Look like LLewellins, may I ask where they are from? I am very interested in finding a good source for a pup, and these dogs look awesome. Feel free to email me if you like. Your blog is great.

    Dennis

    • Dennis–I’m sorry that I missed your post. Tucker, the tri-color is a Llew and he is out of a breeder in Alton, NH called Little River Kennels. I know of several talented dogs that have come from his program.
