A Spring Creek
I visited a wonderful spring creek in Crane, MO where it is believed reside the only existing pure strain of the McCloud River Rainbows. The water was crazy low and clear, but I managed a fish. Lost two and spooked several. It was an exploratory trip on our Sunday drive, so the wife and dog were along. I only fished for an hour or so, but mission accomplished. I found the access points, explored a bit at both ends and caught a fish. That checks off the first of 9 Missouri Blue Ribbon streams.
🙂
I intend to fish it again once the water comes up. Truly a beautiful and challenging fishery.
